Happy Valentines Day my little chickens! This year we decided to celebrate my favourite Hallmark holiday with a little nostalgic romance, so what better then to pay homage to the greatest romcom of all time. I had the incredible privilege of pulling as many diamonds as I felt were necessary from Tiffany’s themselves, to recreate the most iconic scene from this 1961 gem. There is something so timeless about the brand and the film, that we thought why not commit and go all in with our first black and white post. I’m no Audrey Hepburn, but pretending, even if it was in -30°C temperature felt pretty wonderful. Also I got to pose with a Nutella danish, and wear a dangerous amount of jewels so that was cool.
Being able to do these sorts of shoots and collaborating with brands I value as iconic, is what makes my little job so incredibly special to me. I know it ain’t no Thanksgiving, but gratitude is a great word to describe the purpose of today’s holiday. Be grateful for love, the people who bring it out of you, the experiences that make you express it, and the moments that become unforgettable thanks to it. Love makes the world go ’round kids, and it also happens to be my favourite thing in the world. No really I have it tattooed on my wrist, so I’m really committed. Never forget the power of love as my girl Celine coined it, and it’s worth in our big bad world. Hallmark or not, having a day to remember it’s importance doesn’t feel so bad and manufactured to me, so go all in. Chocolates, flowers , or heck maybe diamonds, everything is fair in love and love. Now I must go celebrate with my much better half, have breakfast in bed, and wish you all a lovely ass Valentine’s Day. If you are looking for a good place to eat this AM, I heard Tiffany’s is pretty good… Shoes! – Holly Golightly
