Choosing something to wear to ring in the new year is always my favourite event to shop for. I tend to go for the obvious opportunity to do glitter and bold, but in more recent years I have really fucking enjoyed going hunting. What I mean by that is I pick one of my favourite looks from the past year’s shows, and red carpets, dig it up, and get that shit on my body by the time the ball drops. Last year it was the ever so popular open back Tom Ford zipper dress, but this year I fell deeply in love with a controversial twerker’s fishnet Marc Jacob’s number. Sure the met ball and a new year’s eve pool party are not exactly similar events when it comes to dress code, but I “couldn’t stop” as I “adored” it…get it, get it? We attended the Fontaine BLEAU pool party which ironically enough Miley dropped out of, but Pharrell made sure we didn’t notice. 2014 has been a little chaotic thus far but heres to hoping for happier news, better choices (not including booze influenced tattoos) and warmer weather as the year progresses. Hope all of you had a wonderful 2013 and that this new year brings nothing but health and happiness. I am so grateful for all your support with my CC and thank you for continuing to visit everyday. Love you all… Wrecking Ball Drop
Happy 2014 all! I don’t know about you but for me Kenzo has always been synonymous with my childhood. Wearing my hot pink floral leggings at the age of 7, never did I think one day my favorite brand would be worn by hip hop moguls. When Humberto Leon and Carol Lim took over creatively in 2012, pieces that felt part of a pre-tween renaissance started introducing themselves to my closet and have been steadily checking-in to the Chateau Claude Walk-In ever since. Clouds and tigers and eyes, oh my! Every animal and symbol superimposed with their famous logo has felt dope and fresh, and has become my go-to to add some funk to an outfit. Mixing their evil eye new era cap with a floral overall dress from Rihanna’s river island collection was the perfect way to make a childhood throwback current, comfortable, and simply fucking playful. I’m horribly pale. Having finally made to it miami after braving the storm in my great native land I could not wait to see my old buddy sun…I hope you understand my frustration when I tell you it has now been raining for 5 days, since we arrived in the “miami heat”. This is bullshit. I have been fighting my natural skin tone for as long as I can remember, from spray tans to tanning oil I always come fully prepared to have that J.LO glow, well not this time. I am embracing the white. It is my favourite colour, or lack there of technically speaking. This is me world!…and It doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would…might have something to do with the Vintage Chanel.
Living in Canada there are many downsides that often outweigh the positive of living in a country with a great healthcare system and an awesome french community (yes, I am french Canadian). Let It Snow, a jaunty Christmas tune, has never been so painful and frustrating to listen to, as when stuck in an airpot terminal trying to get home with your flight having been delayed DUE TO WEATHER. Let me tell you, snow and I are not on great terms this holiday season, and we may never…ever…ever, be getting back together. The bitch really pissed me off. I digress we gave up the airport scene and opted to stay the night in Toronto where our flight connection was on our way to Kingston, my fiancé’s hometown. We got a little crash pad at the Drake hotel, which you should all go to as it is terrific, and had ourselves a merry and boozy little holiday evening with our friends who were in the city. I guess it is true what they say about it not being about the destination, it is totally about getting drunk with your friends on the journey there. In case you were wondering we ended up braving the weather and driving to Kingston from Toronto…our original flight continues to be delayed…
