New York, New York
This city has always held a special place in my heart. When I was itty bitty, my mother and father let it be known that New York was a magical place. I still have the most vivid memories of having tea with my father at The Plaza, playing the giant piano upstairs in the late great F.A.O. Schwartz toy store, and seeing The Lion King on Broadway for the very first time. Of course there were also the family vacays in the big apple during my rebellious teenage years, but those were a little messier…so let’s keep it romantic and not go there. The first time I ever lived alone was in New York, the Summer of 2009 when I was 17, going to the American Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and then again at 18, with my first big girl job working for Lizzie Grubman PR…but the memories that might be my fondest are the ones that same Summer of 2010 when Peter and I first fell in love.
Let me tell you from experience, if you’re ever going to fall in love, New York might just be the best place to do it. We spent it traveling back and forth, Canada<—>NY every single weekend, refusing to let a week go by without seeing one another, constantly attempting to surprise each other with big gestures, and small thoughtful ones. I dragged Peter to every musical on Broadway, the restaurants I grew up going to with my family, and then there was our legendary weekend in the Hamptons of course. The story of our first Summer might just be too long and epic to resonate as a blog post, so maybe we’ll tell it together one day. All this to say that when Peter and I visit New York City, even if it’s for work, meetings, or Fashion Week, it has never ceased to be magical. Just the way it felt when I was itty bitty, except maybe even better…

Walt Disney World, Florida
If anyone knows anything about me, it’s that Disney makes my world go ’round. No exaggeration here. It rocks my world, makes my heart skip a beat, puts a spring in my step…you get the point. So when I get to mix two of the great passions of my life, being styling and my main mouse, you could say I get pretty excited. What better way to ring in the new year than with an #OOTD from the happiest place on earth! Creating outfits for the parks inspired by Disney decades past, current trends, or my favourite characters, is probably the most fun I have getting dressed. In fact, I’m about to get out of bed and have myself a good ol’ time getting dressed for our final day here in Magic Kingdom. Going to keep this one short as adventure awaits, but make sure to check out my daily dose of Minnie style and shenanigans around the park on Instagram…Wishing you all a magical 2018, and I cannot wait to share another year of fashion, food, travel, and Mickey together!

We’ve made it folks. Peter and I are finally residing in our new home, and boy is it pretty. It’s crazy to see how much your quality of life can improve, with just a change of scenery. I mean sure, it may just be the excitement talking, but I wake up every day with the morning light feeling light and fluffy on our little cloud. That being said the work that comes with turning a house into your dream home has been somethin’. Only two days of having the keys in hand we had most of our furniture in place, all of our things put away, and thought the end of our little move was in sight. Then…the OCD kicked in and oh boy did it come in hard. For the last two weeks I have been organizing every inch of the past 8 years of my life so our every possession fulfills its destiny by finding its way to the spot it was always meant to be in. It sounds crazy because it is. I can literally tell you on which shelf, of which cupboard, in which room, anything is…and boy does it feel good.
Peter does a ton around the house, but when it comes to organizing my way, bless his soul, the man can’t handle the heat. I started to organize his boot closet yesterday and after asking him to take over for a minute, I came back to a ton of dirty sneakers mismatched piled up in the back of a shelf. He wanted to make it clear to his future self that those were the yucky used sneakers…I could have died. So I got back to work, and haven’t stoped since. That’s kind of how all of our days have been as of late. Honestly, I can’t complain. I think that if you set aside the fact that I’m going absolutely crazy, I’m kind of enjoying myself. It’s a beautiful day in this neighbourhood, like everyday.

Hello my little chickens! After all this YouTube content we’ve been uploading, it almost slipped my mind to share this understated #OOTD this week! Firstly, I wanted to thank you all for all the wonderful support and love you’ve shown for our new channel! We’ve had so much fun producing content for it, and hearing all your positive feedback has made it all worth while. I enjoy sharing more of myself with you guys in a medium other than the written word, and pouty pictures, and am so happy you like watching it as well.
After 2 months of traveling we finally returned from the last leg of our trip in Los Angeles and couldn’t be happier to be home. Well I was before I looked at these sunny Los Angeles photos anyway. Let’s just say Mr. Sun isn’t too eager to show off his winter bod over here in Canadialand. That being said it is a lovely change of scenery, and I am welcoming the snow with open arms…well not literally, because…well you know. I felt like I had so much to say how did this post turn into a conversation about weather. I should be ashamed of myself.
During our stay in LA we had the pleasure of staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and it truly was a PLEASURE. Everything from the service, to the decor, made me feel all kinds of special, and turns out living in a pink, banana leaf wonderland agrees with me more than I would have thought. Also there’s the fact that they leave you cookies at turndown service, so they won me over rather easily. We shot this #OOTD in the hotel’s gardens, which resemble what Lisa Vanderpump imagines heaven to be like. I hope you guys enjoy, and don’t forget to check out my first ever haul of all the goodies I brought back from L.A. on our channel!
