Those Good Old Days

Montreal, Canada

Is it just me or does it already feel like our current snowy landscape has been around for an eternity. Winter has come folks, and I’ve grown so pale I’m blending into the background perfectly. With the exception of my nostrils of course which have been brutalized by tissues to the point where…let’s just say I could probably start raising money for HIV/AIDS research by selling them in their new colourway. I no longer remember a time where I could breath properly, or could climb a flight of stairs without being out of breath, and am constantly either hypothermic or sweating profusely without ever finding a happy medium. Remember when Joey’s weird roommate Eddie on Friends turned out to be a dehydrating maniac, well I’m pretty sure I could only feel dryer by living in his fruit torturing machine.

Ok you get it, I’m congested, thermally unbalanced, and in dire need of some kind of humid climate. It’s crazy how every year Winter surprises us Canadians as if we’ve never lived here before. I find myself saying “was it  this cold last year” on the daily, and don’t understand how my ancestors didn’t take mater into their own hands decades ago and move their future descendants to the Bahamas. Not sure if they were given options before getting on the boat from Ireland, but if they were, let’s just say they made a big mistake…HUGE. In these moments there are only so many things a girl can do. I’ve resorted to venting on the internet, spending most days in my basement playing Super Mario Odyssey, and reflecting on the good old days when the grass was still visible and not slowly dying under think sheets of powdered cold stuff. Speaking of which these photos, were taken in the end of September, where if I recall correctly, I began complaining about it being a little chilly. If only I knew then what I know now….

The Lucky Ones

Miami, Florida

Sometimes life is really good. The sun rises on another beautiful day, happiness is omnipresent, you feel strong and powerful, balance is attained, and a perfectly pleasing routine falls into place. Things get done, you feel in control, and you start thinking that maybe you’ve finally realized how everybody else has been doing it all along.

Then suddenly something happens. Something you never saw coming. Something your not sure how to react to, let alone adequately handle. It shakes you. Makes you existentially confused. Makes you wonder if this balance you strived for, for so long, ever meant anything in the first place. You start to question the hierarchy of the important things in your life. Were you doing it right to begin with? Did you really need all this structure to feel like you had got your life together or was the freedom and impulsivity of your previous nature what you should be aiming for.

What kind of life do you want to lead? What kind of life is most fulfilled?  One thing is certain…make it happy. Make it full of love and moments that live on forever. Make it so when you look back the joy overtakes the sorrow in every instance, that the highs are more meaningful then the lows, that the silver linings always take centre stage. Some of us don’t have the privilege of seeing a silver lining. Of not looking back in anger. Of seeing the sun rise on another beautiful day. So lets live it in their honour. As the lucky ones…

Beverly Hills, California

Hello my little chickens! After all this YouTube content we’ve been uploading, it almost slipped my mind to share this understated #OOTD this week! Firstly, I wanted to thank you all for all the wonderful support and love you’ve shown for our new channel! We’ve had so much fun producing content for it, and hearing all your positive feedback has made it all worth while. I enjoy sharing more of myself with you guys in a medium other than the written word, and pouty pictures, and am so happy you like watching it as well.

After 2 months of traveling we finally returned from the last leg of our trip in Los Angeles and couldn’t be happier to be home. Well I was before I looked at these sunny Los Angeles photos anyway. Let’s just say Mr. Sun isn’t too eager to show off his winter bod over here in Canadialand. That being said it is a lovely change of scenery, and I am welcoming the snow with open arms…well not literally, because…well you know. I felt like I had so much to say how did this post turn into a conversation about weather. I should be ashamed of myself.

During our stay in LA we had the pleasure of staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and it truly was a PLEASURE. Everything from the service, to the decor, made me feel all kinds of special, and turns out living in a pink, banana leaf wonderland agrees with me more than I would have thought. Also there’s the fact that they leave you cookies at turndown service, so they won me over rather easily. We shot this #OOTD in the hotel’s gardens, which resemble what Lisa Vanderpump imagines heaven to be like. I hope you guys enjoy, and don’t forget to check out my first ever haul of all the goodies I brought back from L.A. on our channel!

Zebra print, elephant bags, safari vests, OH MY.

Collabo with Malandrino

_W7C4793 Montreal, Cananda

Being able to collaborate with brands you’ve admired and worn through your pre-blogging life is kinda the best part of the job. When I was a young 17 year old lass interning in New York City, I spent an awful lot of time and money at my neighbours place in the Meat Packing District. As you probably have guessed from the not so illusive title of this post, my so called “neighbour” was the Catherine Malandrino store. So when we got a call to cook up something special with this beloved brand, you could say I was kind of excited or whatever.

Last week I had the immense pleasure of previewing Catherine Malandrino’s new jewelry line, created by renowned international jewellers, Delmar. These statement pieces, feature jem stones like black agate, guava quartz, and a touch of diamonds, because god knows those never hurt. I also had the privilege of styling #OOTD’s around my favourite pieces, and pulling from the Malandrino archives from the beautiful and newly rebranded Kast boutique in Montreal. Not a bad day of work if I do say so myself. I fell in love with every piece, from my favourite aquamarine bracelet to CM’s iconic flag dress, and hope you will too! If you don’t…well, you got some deeper seeded issues I simply don’t understand. _W7C4685 _W7C4640 _W7C4711 _W7C4596 _W7C4688 _W7C4649 _W7C4744 _W7C4788 _W7C4893 _W7C4769 _W7C4860 _W7C4891 _W7C4896 _W7C4810 _W7C4931 _W7C4989 _W7C5117 _W7C5099 _W7C5126 _W7C5104 _W7C5133 It’s a three for one this week
