Capri Sun

_w7c9991 Capri, Italy

My apologies for the slight delay in posting this week. You see while I am reporting on our adventures in Europe, we are actually in Florida dealing with a little hissy fit from mother nature, endearingly named Hurricane Matthew. After all our preparations, from cancelling the rest of our Disney World stay, and stocking up on food as if the zombie apocalypse was on its way, little Matty went right passed us barely saying hello. I’m not sure what I’m more annoyed by, the fact that we made a big fuss over what turned out to be a windy morning, or that I’m still glued to my TV watching wet weather people in their L.L. Bean jackets, repeating the same 8 facts for the past 12 hours…Anyways, super grateful  we survived, and certainly hope the rest of the coast is as lucky as we were! My thoughts are with those who weren’t as fortunate as we were, namely Haiti and Bahamas. Stay safe everybody.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. We spent 3 magical days on the island of Capri, eating, drinking, and taking in all the sun we could handle without turning into Anger from Inside Out. Highlights include, dinning under dozens of lemon trees at Da Paolino, exploring caves, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, and getting a little chocolate wasted at La Fontelina, and of course spending romantic time with the hubby strolling the streets where Jackie O used to do the same in her Capri pants. I think that just about covers it. Now I must get back to eating all the contents of my refrigerator and pantry, as we are leaving in a few days and purchased enough sustenance to feed an angry heard of kindergarteners…I mostly bought chips, pop tarts, and lunchables. What can I say, if I’m gonna see my last day on earth, I want my final meal to be strawberry flavoured with sprinkles on top…. _w7c9973 _w7c0025 _w7c0057 _w7c9979 _w7c0050 _w7c0006 _w7c0034 _w7c0041 _w7c0075 _w7c0091 l1050133 _w7c0138 It’s more of a Capri Sun-set really…

Ontario Dreaming

_W7C7685 Toronto, Canada

It has been far too long since I have shared and #OOTD with you guys, and it feels so great to be back doing what caused the site’s inception! The summer seems to have taken a life of it’s own, and has kept us rather busy, but one can never complain when the weather is this sweet. Last week we were in Toronto for a few meetings and photoshoot, and on our way out, couldn’t help but stop by one of our favourite breakfasts stops, Bar Buca. This swanky establishment also fed me the “best thing I ever ate…”so it’s probably worth stopping by when you’re in the area…just saying. Toronto houses some of our favourite restaurants, and I have made peace with the fact that my pants are always a little tighter in Ontario. Nevertheless, these Kendall + Kylie trousers seemed to button up just fine so we did a little impromptu shoot pre-food, next to my buddy Alec’s street art. Our Toronto trips always revolve so much around food…it wouldn’t be fair to keep all our bikini bod killers to ourselves would it? More on that next week, but for now here’s a little monochromatic rockabilly number paired with  the great shark of Chanel bags….and just for the record, pants didn’t fit great on the way out… _W7C7708 _W7C7746 _W7C7741 _W7C7769 _W7C7753 _W7C7735 _W7C7755 _W7C7721 _W7C7729 _W7C7669 Part lady, part punk rocker…

I See Dead People

_W7C0452 Miami, Florida

Have you ever been in an awfully shitty mood for an extended period of time? You see, this past week I hadn’t been getting much sleep due to, get ready for it…night terrors. That’s right kids, my 24 year old ass reverted to childhood in all the worst ways, as I had nightmares that made me claw at my chest and experience paranoia that may or may not have caused hallucinations. I shit you not, I am that crazy. I also might actually believe in ghosts now, but perhaps I’ll save that serving of insanity for another post. Anyways, lack of sleep for a prolonged period of time made me unbelievably irritable. I’m talking, Queen Of Hearts “off with their heads!” irritable. I had my husband and parents living in fear of every word they spoke to me, which wasn’t as entertaining at the time, as the thought is now.

Also my lack of zzz’s caused a little side dish of depression, which gave me a chance to catch up on a bunch of TV shows I forgot I gave a shit about. Did you know America’s Next Top model had a cycle 22, and a hot deaf guy won! I do, because I spent the past 2 days locked in my room in the same set of pyjamas, watching Miss Tyra dramatically render that elimination speech oh so intensely and slowly. Seriously, pretty certain I could recite that spiel identically, intonation, dramatic pauses and all. Though not sure how proud I should be of my newly acquired talent, as after 22 seasons of this reality, I’m pretty sure all of us have that impression down pat. All this nonsense to tell you that my insomnia has a happy ending, as I have just awoken from a glorious night of deep dreamless sleep! Life is full of hardships that make you grateful for the little things you may have taken for granted kids. So when you lay your down head on your pillow tonight, don’t forget to thank heavens for the glorious mind that is Tyra Banks, and the gift that is ANTM…”Wanna be on top”?! _W7C0362 _W7C0465 _W7C0426 _W7C0492 _W7C0389 _W7C0458 _W7C0436 _W7C0413 _W7C0443 _W7C0370 _W7C0408 _W7C0459 When your rant is completely unrelated to the #OOTD photos you posted…

My Date With Travis

_W7C2651 Montreal, Cananda

Last week I had the immense pleasure of hosting my favourite Montreal designer, Travis Taddeo‘s, VIP shopping event in his beautiful old port atelier. Reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s factory, the evening was driven by talented Montreal artists and vendors coming together, sharing their craft, and having one or two glasses of bubbly. From Deux Lion jewelry to Alice Kass lingerie, and many more, the room was filled with little wonders I wanted to make mine…and had to succumb to by the end of the night.

Having known the name Travis Taddeo as an established  designer with a bold take on minimalist lines, based out of our city, I couldn’t wait to meet the man behind this distinctive aesthetic. Not only does my buddy Travis make the most remarkable garments with distinctive blends of silk, jersey, and fur, but I now know him as the sweetest soul I’ve ever had the chance to come across in my long 24 years of life. I was like a kid in a candy store, picking #OOTD options for the event earlier that week, and felt privilege to do so with the man behind the magic.

All in all, the evening was a great success and a wonderful time, though I did have a hard time watching my coveted pieces from Travis’ collection find new homes. I truly don’t know how he parts with them. In his position, I would be one hell of a hoarder…a broke hoarder surrounded by beautiful clothes. Doesn’t sound so bad at all. _W7C2663final _W7C2705final _W7C2734 _W7C2693 _W7C2707 _W7C2710 _W7C2656 _W7C2681 _W7C2729 _W7C2646 _W7C2720 _W7C2743 _W7C2763 _W7C2748 _W7C2781 _W7C2764 _W7C2788 _W7C2772 _W7C2778 _W7C2799 _W7C2835 _W7C2827 _W7C2831 (1) _W7C2843 _W7C2653 TT, all day, Erryday,
