Amster Dayum!

_w7c0942 Amsterdam, Netherlands

It had always been a dream of mine to visit the Netherlands. Now, I know what you’re all thinking, but in no way was I in it for the coffee shops, I just really love a nice pair of wooden shoes. Well those, the canals, the tulips, the museums, the history. Amsterdam is a city full of endless discoveries, wonderful people, and pancakes, really wonderful yummy pancakes! I fell in love with the Venice of the North, almost instantly…but then I started fearing for my life. As someone who’s is pretty mediocre at riding a bicycle, has no balance, and very little trust in the two wheeled invention, having my life constantly threatened by herds of them cause what some may call a little anxiety. Feeling like  Simba in the middle of the wildabeast stampede, holding on for dear life on that little branch, gets old real quick let me tell you. I’m super happy for mama earth, as this green alternative for getting around probably makes her hate us a little less for pollution, waste, overuse of natural resources, global warming…

You know what, nvm my irrational fear of the velocipede, a little anxiety when crossing the street is well worth it if it’s going to contribute to saving the one and only planet the entire human race has to call home. So moral of the story is, face your fears kids! Who knows, you may save the world in the process…k not really, but being environmentally conscious is that epically important, so please take it as seriously as you should. We can’t count on Leo and Al Gore to do all the work for us kids. If we all did a little, like turning off the tap and lights once in a while, recycling and composting, even if it takes an extra second, and yes even riding your bike, we’d being making a world of difference. Really didn’t think this blog post would turn into an environmental op-ed piece, but it did, so tadaaaaa. Amsterdam, I love you. Thank you for doing your part, and creating a culturally beautiful landscape while doing it…

Capri Sun

_w7c9991 Capri, Italy

My apologies for the slight delay in posting this week. You see while I am reporting on our adventures in Europe, we are actually in Florida dealing with a little hissy fit from mother nature, endearingly named Hurricane Matthew. After all our preparations, from cancelling the rest of our Disney World stay, and stocking up on food as if the zombie apocalypse was on its way, little Matty went right passed us barely saying hello. I’m not sure what I’m more annoyed by, the fact that we made a big fuss over what turned out to be a windy morning, or that I’m still glued to my TV watching wet weather people in their L.L. Bean jackets, repeating the same 8 facts for the past 12 hours…Anyways, super grateful  we survived, and certainly hope the rest of the coast is as lucky as we were! My thoughts are with those who weren’t as fortunate as we were, namely Haiti and Bahamas. Stay safe everybody.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. We spent 3 magical days on the island of Capri, eating, drinking, and taking in all the sun we could handle without turning into Anger from Inside Out. Highlights include, dinning under dozens of lemon trees at Da Paolino, exploring caves, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, and getting a little chocolate wasted at La Fontelina, and of course spending romantic time with the hubby strolling the streets where Jackie O used to do the same in her Capri pants. I think that just about covers it. Now I must get back to eating all the contents of my refrigerator and pantry, as we are leaving in a few days and purchased enough sustenance to feed an angry heard of kindergarteners…I mostly bought chips, pop tarts, and lunchables. What can I say, if I’m gonna see my last day on earth, I want my final meal to be strawberry flavoured with sprinkles on top…. _w7c9973 _w7c0025 _w7c0057 _w7c9979 _w7c0050 _w7c0006 _w7c0034 _w7c0041 _w7c0075 _w7c0091 l1050133 _w7c0138 It’s more of a Capri Sun-set really…

Goodbye my Summer

_w7c8341 Montreal, Canada

We are back! After a little European sabbatical it feels so nice to return to you and have so much sick shit to share in the coming weeks. We shot my favourite #OOTDs in all of our favourite cities from Paris, to Capri, to Amsterdam and I can’t wait to throw all that content on the blog, and rant about how much I ate. Something feels strange about being back though I must admit. I hate resorting to talking about the weather, but when did September happen and when did Summer kinda start ending? I feel like we spent all those good sunny months in front of our computer screens and aside from the miraculous weeks across the pond, summer vacay didn’t feel very vacationy at all. As someone who calls Canadialand her home I cherish those 3-4 months where the sun gods are in our favour…because let’s face it, in our native Canada, Winter is ALWAYS coming.  So here is my pitch finish reading this, check out the cool pictures, from that time I sweat a lot before an amazing Grey Goose event, and wore a awesome boho power suit, but then go play outside! We got to take what we can get kids, and September is all we got left, so take it all in. I leave you with this jem of a song from the mid 2000s, by the only man that has ever been sad enough to sit cross legged. Love you my little chickens, so happy to be back. _w7c8269 _w7c8282 _w7c8347 _w7c8362 _w7c8307 _w7c8388 _w7c8369 _w7c8399 _w7c8281 _w7c8384 _w7c8391 …aint nothin’ sexy about swass

Ontario Dreaming

_W7C7685 Toronto, Canada

It has been far too long since I have shared and #OOTD with you guys, and it feels so great to be back doing what caused the site’s inception! The summer seems to have taken a life of it’s own, and has kept us rather busy, but one can never complain when the weather is this sweet. Last week we were in Toronto for a few meetings and photoshoot, and on our way out, couldn’t help but stop by one of our favourite breakfasts stops, Bar Buca. This swanky establishment also fed me the “best thing I ever ate…”so it’s probably worth stopping by when you’re in the area…just saying. Toronto houses some of our favourite restaurants, and I have made peace with the fact that my pants are always a little tighter in Ontario. Nevertheless, these Kendall + Kylie trousers seemed to button up just fine so we did a little impromptu shoot pre-food, next to my buddy Alec’s street art. Our Toronto trips always revolve so much around food…it wouldn’t be fair to keep all our bikini bod killers to ourselves would it? More on that next week, but for now here’s a little monochromatic rockabilly number paired with  the great shark of Chanel bags….and just for the record, pants didn’t fit great on the way out… _W7C7708 _W7C7746 _W7C7741 _W7C7769 _W7C7753 _W7C7735 _W7C7755 _W7C7721 _W7C7729 _W7C7669 Part lady, part punk rocker…
