Hey boys and girls, I’m back, in better spirits then ever! The weather, I swear it fucks with your mind sometimes. All that depression talk was such a downer right? I blame the snow, and the slush, and the fucking sub zero Narnia temperature *insert angry red emoticon*…enough about that. There is one positive about this whole city frozen over scenario, and that is the cold my friends. You see similarly to a hibernating mammal, I need some thermal insulation for the tough season we are experiencing. This means I have a motive, an excuse, and completely feasible explanation for eating all the crap I want. Not only is it comforting during this cruel winter, but guess what…that extra layer is keeping me warm. IT HAS PURPOSE! So fuck bikini season, I’m suiting up for parka season, and damn does it ever taste good…Oh ya, and these pictures were taken a couple weeks ago while we were in Disney World to run a marathon. There! Another reason why I deserve all the McDonalds my little heart desires. Parapapapa… “Get in my bellay” – Fat Bastard
The day is finally here folks…my last London Fashion Week post has arrived. Saved the best for last too! The ladies at Marchesa are my absolute favourite red carpet designers of all time. I’m sorry Mr. De La Renta and Charles James, but their use of fringe, lace, embroidery, beading, and all the good stuff, brings that dreamlike whimsy I can never get enough of. For the brand’s 10th anniversary they brought out all the stops. Not only did they master my favourite aesthetic, but took on my ultimate fashion inspiration…Woodstock. What do you get when you mix two things you absolutely adore and view the product of that collaboration…not to quote Rachel Zoe, but I DIE, legitimately just died. The tulle, the flowers, this rock-‘n’-roll gypsy fantasy transported me to another place even more beautiful then the Banqueting House on Whitehall, where the show took place. This was a magical night, and I was so thankful to be in a room full of people that have inspired me so much over the years. The #OOTD you see, is actually what I wore to the after party, as I was wearing the white Givenchy lace suit I previously posted to the show. The photo quality was not great as just took a few quick pictures before heading out, but I hope the gorgeous images from the show make up for it! Thank you Karen and Georgina, for the fun, for the glamour, and for that pink tulle masterpiece. A Canadian Wang Girl In London
After a wee Wang break, we get back to our London Fashion Week adventures. Pardon my unfunny-ness today as I am completely exhausted, post moving weekend, assignment binge week, and job prep. Imma do my best to make at least minimal amounts of sense…On our last night in the Queen’s hood we had two shows to attend back to back. First Lulu Liu, a Chinese born designer whose time living in Japan is strongly reflected in her loud, and quirky, aesthetic. We then headed over to the star studded Marchesa show, which I will share with you in our next post. I wore this same Givenchy lace suit to both shows, but had to switch in my “So Kate” pumps for Chanel Oxfords, as the pinch stiletto pain simply became intolerable. It was a stressful night, running from one location to the other, trying to get to shows on time, but we finally had the chance to wind down at the Marchesa after party, which I will tell you all about next time! Until then, here are a few images we captured in our hotel room before running out for our last night at LFW. Vayte Layce
I am busy. Like about to have a mental break down busy. Life, as fun as it has been, is currently enjoying kicking the shit out of me. We are moving our lives into a new apartment this week, which coincidentally happens to be the most assignment/work/social heavy period I have had all year. YAY. Stress is my new boyfriend. Therefore today’s post will be short and sweet. We continue our trip in Londontown in a quaint little neighbourhood that seemed to have been built for Sylvanian Families animal dolls. We wandered around, while playing hooky and ditching some LFW shows to get a little British culture. By Brit culture I mean going to Harrods and Zuma, but none the less totally relevant to the UK’s heritage….am I right? Life was so simple back then…
