Ireland #TBT

_W7C6329 Ireland

Happy Saint-Patrick’s day everyone! May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, may good luck pursue you each morning and night…and beer, I wish you great beer. Today, being one of my favourite holidays, I thought what better way to celebrate then to share our adventures in the Emerald Isle itself. Last summer we had the great pleasure, of visiting Ireland to celebrate my 24th birthday, and it may have been one of our greatest trips yet. Our mothers in tow, we spent a week driving all around the island of Ireland from south to north, and saw sights (and pubs), experienced the culture (and pubs), and made memories that have a good chance of lasting a lifetime (except the ones we made in pubs). The luck of the Irish followed us from Dublin, to Belfast, and we truly had a magical time…and many pints of Guinness as well. Along the way we snapped a couple #OOTDs that remained unpublished until now. I thought what better time then to share them with you now, as well as a few pictures from our road trip to remember. Also on this special holiday I thought I’d leave you with a few words of wisdom… You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning… _W7C5378 _W7C5399 _W7C5381 _W7C5491 _W7C5549 _W7C5512 _W7C5626 _W7C5643 _W7C5646 _W7C5719 _W7C5704 _W7C5837 _W7C6117 _W7C5990 _W7C6161 IMG_8308 _W7C6285 _W7C6270 _W7C6325 _W7C6278 IMG_8317 IMG_8286 _W7C6344 _W7C6369 _W7C6391 _W7C6396 _W7C6418 12304332_10153701812930450_763209895028578394_o IMG_8364 12307587_10153701813725450_5488783441244037941_o 12339085_10153701813135450_1902410547975918873_o IMG_8497 IMG_8508 _W7C6637 12339345_10153701814425450_7475745730929294825_o IMG_8554 _W7C6685 12322632_10153701815420450_689179082859015852_o 12291857_10153702835285450_7404177763287724744_o IMG_8578 They’re in order…you’ll figure it out…

Keep Calm and Blog On

2016-01-29 at 20-37-41 Miami, Florida

TGIF my little chickens! Another week has come and gone, and so much has happened, I can barely wrap my mind around it all. We had a wonderful weekend after posting our new EATS section, followed by a very scary and dramatic week, which thankfully is now technically coming to an end. Family is everything to Peter and myself, so when our loved ones face a crisis we tend to take over. Helplessness is not a pleasant feeling, therefore doing everything in our power to better the situation has been our priority these past days. I know everything I’m saying is annoyingly vague, but no matter how personal I get writing this blog, I’m simply not the type of lady to posts the tough stuff as my Facebook status, and this is no different. For now, we are concentrating on creating solutions, and trying to prepare all we can before our departure from Miami. There is nothing like seeing a stubborn person, finally seeing the benefits of changing a negative behaviour. Now all I can hope for is that this new change lasts, even when we’re not there to guide and oversee it.

We decided to go away this weekend as a kind of trial run, and head up to this new place I’ve heard of called Walt Disney World. We’ve been pretty down lately and apparently this location is assured to create happiness, so it should be just what the doctor ordered. My crisis philosophy of “keep calm and head to Disney”, will be in full swing on Insta all weekend, and though I’m horribly worried to leave the big kids I call my parents alone, I know it’ll need to happen sooner or later and am confident they can handle it without us. I apologize for a serious and obnoxiously nonspecific post, but promise my sailor mouth and dry wit will be back next week. Until then I have a trouser-wearing mouse to go visit, and I heard he has pretty good food in his kingdom. Who knows, maybe we’ll tell you guys about it… 2016-01-29 at 20-29-44 2016-01-29 at 20-30-49 2016-01-29 at 20-35-06 2016-01-29 at 20-45-40 2016-01-29 at 20-39-23 2016-01-29 at 20-41-40 2016-01-29 at 20-26-54 2016-01-29 at 20-43-38 2016-01-29 at 20-35-56 I can’t believe it’s not butter…I mean Missoni

Turkey Day

2015-11-14 at 13-49-08 Toronto, Canada

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American readers today! Also stop reading this, get off you computers, and go watch football with your families and eat tons of that stale bread stuffed up your turkey’s bums. Stuffing sounds dirty for a reason kids. Speaking of delicious foods, yesterday was day 10, and the end of my Master Cleanse, and I somehow did it! The girl who couldn’t go a day without ingesting something deep fried went 10 full days only drinking lemonade. Goes to show, you are all capable of more then you think, so don’t sell yourself short, dream big and be unrealistic, because you might be more badass then anticipated. Enough with the motivational speaking, I was just writing up a little post to wish you all a wonderful, food filled day with your loved ones. My Canadian family and I will also be celebrating, as we are currently in Miami and forgot to do so last month on our country’s own Turkey day.  For some reason I feel like I should keep that information a secret not to be excommunicated from Canadialand for treason, or be branded as an American imposter. This is you brain post Tom Cruise movies kids. Anywhoo this little festive looking #OOTD was shot when we were visiting our besties in Toronto last week, where the weather was lovely and Fall-ish. Have a wonderful, family fun filled Thanksgiving, and make sure to wear some lycra! 2015-11-14 at 13-47-35 2015-11-14 at 13-48-27 2015-11-14 at 13-50-28 2015-11-14 at 13-49-22 2015-11-14 at 13-48-39 2015-11-14 at 13-48-11 2015-11-14 at 13-49-48 2015-11-14 at 13-48-10 2015-11-14 at 13-50-15 2015-11-14 at 13-49-03 Suede would be a bad idea…doesn’t expand fast enough

My Date With Jonathan

2015-10-22 at 13-26-59 Montreal, Canada

Last week I had the immense pleasure of meeting my favourite CFDA/Vogue nominee Jonathan Simkhai days before the verdict dropped and the winners of the fund were announced.  Today, I am so very glad to post about our time together, because as predicted, he very deservingly took home a win last night at the awards. As one does when meeting someone who’s work you respect and admire, I was a tad anxious heading into Holt Renfrew for my fitting with the infamous creator of the “Inseparable Separates”. His work had been so prominent in celebrity culture and well received by the fashion community that I couldn’t help but fear that his current relevance and recent acclaims might make him too cool to handle. Thankfully I couldn’t have been more wrong. Jonathan is the kind of calming, warmhearted presence you need on every bad day. His smile is infectious and even his shy boy persona cannot conceal his kind spirit . His character alone would be deserving of all of his recent praise…but then I met the clothes.

As Jonathan picked Fall looks for me, I couldn’t help but be hypnotized by pieces I had recently seen in Vogue from his recent Spring collection. The romantic technical lace, and embroidered macramé, in figure-skimming silhouettes had me dreaming of being in Lake Como, where the designer had researched fabrics for his collection. Having seen them presented on the runway with low top sneakers, made me feel that perhaps Jonathan and I were kindred spirits. As I cuddled up in his floor length soft lambswool cardigan, our conversations went from the recent tasks the fund had him execute, to his everyday muses, to our common styling goal of never letting an outfit take itself too seriously. After trying on almost everything the store was carrying, we settled on 2 inseparable separates parings, one of the Spring looks pictured in Vogue’s CFDA spread, and since I refused to remove the impossibly soft cardigan off my body, we figured I’d have to take that home too. I am so thrilled to have had a chance to spend time with, let alone be styled by this incredibly talented designer and his wonderful team. I was right when predicting his win, so I’m not going out on much of a limb here by saying that  Jonathan Simkhai will join the ranks of the great CFDA winners of the past, and be the household name he deserves to become. 2015-10-22 at 12-17-32 2015-10-22 at 12-19-53 2015-10-22 at 12-19-13 2015-10-22 at 12-16-53 2015-10-22 at 12-18-31 2015-10-22 at 12-19-27 2015-10-22 at 12-20-49 2015-10-22 at 12-45-06 2015-10-22 at 13-07-40 2015-10-22 at 13-08-25 2015-10-22 at 13-08-35 2015-10-22 at 13-09-29 2015-10-22 at 13-26-50 2015-10-22 at 13-19-28 2015-10-22 at 13-41-49 JonaFAN…see what I did there
