We’ve made it folks. Peter and I are finally residing in our new home, and boy is it pretty. It’s crazy to see how much your quality of life can improve, with just a change of scenery. I mean sure, it may just be the excitement talking, but I wake up every day with the morning light feeling light and fluffy on our little cloud. That being said the work that comes with turning a house into your dream home has been somethin’. Only two days of having the keys in hand we had most of our furniture in place, all of our things put away, and thought the end of our little move was in sight. Then…the OCD kicked in and oh boy did it come in hard. For the last two weeks I have been organizing every inch of the past 8 years of my life so our every possession fulfills its destiny by finding its way to the spot it was always meant to be in. It sounds crazy because it is. I can literally tell you on which shelf, of which cupboard, in which room, anything is…and boy does it feel good.

Peter does a ton around the house, but when it comes to organizing my way, bless his soul, the man can’t handle the heat. I started to organize his boot closet yesterday and after asking him to take over for a minute, I came back to a ton of dirty sneakers mismatched piled up in the back of a shelf. He wanted to make it clear to his future self that those were the yucky used sneakers…I could have died. So I got back to work, and haven’t stoped since. That’s kind of how all of our days have been as of late. Honestly, I can’t complain. I think that if you set aside the fact that I’m going absolutely crazy, I’m kind of enjoying myself. It’s a beautiful day in this neighbourhood, like everyday.

The beginning of festival season was pretty headwear heavy for me. Flower crowns are dead and should remain that way until their probable “vintage” reemergence in 10-20, but everything under the sun besides that cliché seems to be fair game. First there was the fiddler cap, then the ever understated spiky golden crown, and now rainbow ombre butterflies. You’ve heard of it?..I’ve probably worn it on my head. I also added a lip ring in there for good measure.

Day 3 of Coachella is usually reserved for my comfiest #OOTD and this year was no exception. You have to foresee what kind of bloat you’re going to be dealing with after 3 straight days of drinking and snacking, and I came prepared. This tie-die elephant motif Moschino dress, felt like something you should wear exclusively in a festival setting, so I made sure to pack it and pair it with his little Loewe elephant bag friend. His name is Hannibal btw. This pair of Janis Joplin inspired sunnies also absolutely had to make an appearance Coachella weekend, and this outfit felt too on theme not to bring them together.

…And just like that Coachella weekend came to an end, and so did all the fun festival dressing that came with it. Thankfully ’tis the season, and I cannot to wear more ridiculous shit on my head, and in my nose/mouth/ear areas. What can I say…my orifices just love to look like Christmas trees.

NYFW Day One

New York, New York

TGIF everyone! This past week has been an absolute whirlwind, literally and figuratively. We spent it in New York for Fashion Week in the snow, wind and rain, and not to sound cliché or anything but…had the absolute time of our lives! Though it wasn’t my first time experiencing NYFW, I never did it quit like this. Usually we attend a couple shows, and events, plan a few meetings while in the city and call it a day. This trip however, it was going to be 5 days, a dozen shows, evening fun with friends, and no time for rest let alone sleep. That’s right kids, I was gonna do it like the pros do.

After missing the Desigual and Nicholas K show (told ya’ I was doing it like the pros), we finally arrived amidst the snowstorm, and I had to get going and ready for the Micheal Costello show. Did I mention the snowstorm. Try to look cute, let alone effortlessly street style cool surrounded by puddles of slush and snowbanks. Not what I had planned for. After I got seated first row across from a Care Bear, my nerves took a back seat and I started feeling like this week was gonna be good. That night was followed by the best tacos of my life at ABC Cocina, and a mediocre night’s rest.

The next day I froze my buns of shooting this very look, before heading to The Standard Grill for a quick lunch before Cushnie et Ochs. Here’s a tip for you. Don’t eat a massive burger with a generous side of fries while wearing lycra-less vintage jeans. Boy did I not feel good. I had my tight pants on, a tall pink pom pom beanie, and leopard of all prints, sitting front row at my most anticipated show of the week, across from some of the most influential people in the industry. If you want to know how to feel out of place kids, this is how you do it!

Events like fashion week can make you feel so very teeny tiny in a sea of incredibly beautiful and talented individuals. What’s important to remember though, is that no two are completely alike, and that it is your skill, your character, and your unadulterated uniqueness, that will get you where you are going. So no matter how many followers, endorsement deals or shiny contracts are sitting across from you at a fashion show, you made it because of your hard work and because you stayed true to who you are. Wow, why did I go all introspective and preachy again. All I’m trying to say is…you do you. No matter, in what field, or what that means to you, because your power is in your individuality and what you bring to the table. Even if like in my case, it’s just butt jokes, a pom pom hat and a good time…Have a beautiful weekend my little chickens!

Hello my little chickens! After all this YouTube content we’ve been uploading, it almost slipped my mind to share this understated #OOTD this week! Firstly, I wanted to thank you all for all the wonderful support and love you’ve shown for our new channel! We’ve had so much fun producing content for it, and hearing all your positive feedback has made it all worth while. I enjoy sharing more of myself with you guys in a medium other than the written word, and pouty pictures, and am so happy you like watching it as well.

After 2 months of traveling we finally returned from the last leg of our trip in Los Angeles and couldn’t be happier to be home. Well I was before I looked at these sunny Los Angeles photos anyway. Let’s just say Mr. Sun isn’t too eager to show off his winter bod over here in Canadialand. That being said it is a lovely change of scenery, and I am welcoming the snow with open arms…well not literally, because…well you know. I felt like I had so much to say how did this post turn into a conversation about weather. I should be ashamed of myself.

During our stay in LA we had the pleasure of staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and it truly was a PLEASURE. Everything from the service, to the decor, made me feel all kinds of special, and turns out living in a pink, banana leaf wonderland agrees with me more than I would have thought. Also there’s the fact that they leave you cookies at turndown service, so they won me over rather easily. We shot this #OOTD in the hotel’s gardens, which resemble what Lisa Vanderpump imagines heaven to be like. I hope you guys enjoy, and don’t forget to check out my first ever haul of all the goodies I brought back from L.A. on our channel!
