The Floating City

_w7c0439 Venice, Italy

During our time in the city of water, canals and bridges, I had the chance to cross off many items on my bucket list, and even some I never had the kahunas to put on there in the first place. When I first visited Venice as a younger lass, I dreamt of a romantic gondola ride with a cute Ashton Kutcher lookin’ fella’ from the cruise ship we had just disembarked. Instead I got to ride with my father, in the tourist infested canals, while the man rowing us sang romantic hymns probably assuming we were a couple, and I was a child bride. Not what tween dreams are made of. So you can imagine my absolute delight riding this banana boat next to my husband, under the stars, after gondola rush hour, and drinking champagne on our way to dinner at Harry’s Bar. I mean the singing was still somewhat awkward, but like wayyy more warranted. I must have some good karma or something, because that moment was 10 years in the making. Never give up on your dreams kids!

When we arrived at my favourite iconic Italian eatery, none other that Harry Cipriani was sitting next to us, eating with very VERY old friends. He’s like 90, what did I expect, that he’d be hanging out with the cast of Stranger Things or something. Anyway, I tensed up rather quickly, as I really wanted to tell him that by creating the Bellini, he made the the alcoholic I am today, and then another perfect moment occurred, he walked to our table to say hello…and I went full vow of silence. Weird the people you get starstruck by. I should have figured that anyone who provides the yummies in my tummy, would be the ones I admire most. Anyways, Mr. Cipriani, was the loveliest of all gentlemen. Though I didn’t tell him about my affinity for his peach cocktail, I did muster up a few words about his Meringue cake being our absolute favourite and also our wedding cake…and then something wonderful happened. Not only did, Arrigo Cipriani grace us with a photo to remember that moment forever, but he sent over cake. Dead. To quote Lizzie McGuire on her own Italian adventure, “this is what dreams are made of”. Moral of the story is, reach for the stars, go the distance, because dreams are wishes your heart make and therefore you should always Hakuna Matata, and…I can’t kinda muster another Disney song to conclude this sentence but you get the picture.

Jungle Feva’

_W7C5266 Los Angeles, California

TGIF my little chickens! I hope your week has been kind to you, and that the weekend has even sweeter things in store! As you may have noticed from my Instagram feed, the husband and I have just returned from Disney World where we celebrated our second wedding anniversary and had a magical time. No, it doesn’t get old. We are now on the last leg of our little vaca in Miami and have been consumed by our computer screens, so imma keep this one short so mama can hit up the beach and do vacationy things. Who am I kidding, spending the entire remnants of our trip on YouTube watching Jenna Marbles videos sounds like FACKING HEAVEN. Back to bidness, this little #OOTD was shot in LA in the jungle looking gardens of the Chateau Marmont, as we were heading out to Giorgio Baldi for dinner. We thoroughly took advantage of every opportunity we had to stuff our faces while visiting Lalaland before Coachella, and I think it’s about time we trigger your travel cravings and share our favourite food spots, with you don’t you think?…Who knows, maybe in a week’s time we will present you with a new #CCeats food guide for LA. This is all speculation of course, but you know…who knows? _W7C5308 _W7C5260 _W7C5303 _W7C5274 _W7C5271 _W7C5298 _W7C5315 _W7C5284 _W7C5294 _W7C5324 Flower stripe child

Open Festival Season

_W7C5630 Indio, California

The time has come my little chickens! Festival season is in full bloom and I’m here to bombard you with all of it’s wonder and magicalness. We had the lovely pleasure of attending Coachella once again this year, and it truly was a weekend to remember. From epic desert dusks to spotting every fairy featured supermodel I’ve ever dreamed of looking like, it was picturesque to say the least. Because the festival was in fact a three day long event, I will be sharing all three silly #OOTDs I pieced together for the eclectic occasion, and today marks numero uno.

Having knowingly rented a convertible for our time in California, I was partly thrilled and mortified to see my husband roll up in a banana yellow mustang to drive down to the desert. Several hours of sunburns, sandstorms and embarrassment later we finally arrived to the festival, and it was just like I remembered it, but overpopulated with famous people. Last year we attended the second weekend of Coachella, which I guess is less celebrity friendly, as this first weekend seemed to be some sort of convention for people that make me nervous. After spotting Aaron Paul, Daphne Groeneveld, and Zoe Kravitz during my first four minutes on the grounds, I became friendly with the margarita booth and my anxiety seem to subside rather quickly. Here’s the rule, don’t go up to them, and more importantly don’t later have FOMO for not going up to them. We lived by this all weekend long, and had a great time admiring these creatures in their natural habitat. Pretty sure Coachella is more LA than LA is.

I’m not sure if any of you know this, but I quite like food. In fact I booked this Coachella trip, while on day 6 of my 10 day Master Cleanse last year, simply to attend to a grilled cheese craving from one of the festival’s food trucks. When I bit into that sandwich, boy oh boy did I hear the hark angel sing. As for the music, well, we weren’t originally thrilled with the lineup this year, Guns’N’Roses excluded, but we discovered some new folks and danced to some known folks, that made us rethink our original apprehension. From girl grooving to Ellie Goulding, and having a total existential moment during M83, our first night was a Coachelluccess! Ya, let’s forget that “pun” happened. Highlight for me, aside from the grilled cheese, had to be the song I shared with you folks below…K, now go listen to it! Sweet April Showers?

_W7C2541 Montreal, Canada

I hate writing these weather post, but really right now? I feel I have no choice but to acknowledge the chilly elephant in the room and bitch about mother nature. After spending the majority of 2016 in Miami, I was looking forward to finally spending time in our hometown. Can’t say I’m too pleased. How can I describe the current temperature? Wet shit maybe? Seriously, its rainy, its snowy, its slushy…its just plain old yucky if you ask me. Can you believe tourism is a thing here? I mean yes its beautiful architecture and yada yada yada, but Montreal ain’t no exotic land. We have literally not taken a second since we stepped of that plane in our homeland of Canada, and mama needs some vitamin D to keep going. Thankfully with Coachella around the corner, we will be leaving the tundra for the desert of Palm Springs, and I can promise that this time I will not be complaining about the heat! We have so much exciting news and posts to share with you, from new city food guide, to amazing collaborations, and I cannot wait to take you kids along for the ride! Until then let us gather together and perform some kind of anti-rain dance. Springtime, we are very fuckign ready for you. _W7C2437 _W7C2566 _W7C2506 _W7C2456 _W7C2472 _W7C2514 _W7C2500 _W7C2438 _W7C2588 _W7C2570 Still unsure about this mismatched greens situation
