Coachella Day 2
The Fucking Desert, California
Coachella may be long gone, for this year at least, but festival season has just begun! We shot this little guy in the desert our second morning in Indio, before heading to see Clean Bandit and dancing to some happy music. This For Love and Lemons number got a lot of traction in the young male demographic. I didn't keep track of the number of drunk frat boys that ran up to me at the Empire Polo Club to comment on the fact that they thought I was naked, but it was a lot. "Sorry to disappoint buddy" became my tagline for the day. I had a much more pleasant encounter when a lovely eastern european girl with blond hair, a beige hat, the same dress in red, and similar black booties, approached me in the rose garden to tell me I had great taste. I really wanted to take a picture with my doppelgänger to capture this precious moment, but her english wasn't that great and well...she just left mid convo. The food at Coachella was kind of a highlight for us, so after I had sampled the delicious everything from a large selection of booths and food trucks I started filling out my dress a little less gracefully. FOOD BABY! Being aware of the kinda lady I am, I foresaw this kind of event occurring and packed my Dimepiece Dashiki for the occasion! Hiding my grilled cheese pregnancy became a little easier after that. We spent the entire day in the hot hot heat and after jamming to awesome acts like Chet Faker & Milky Chance we started to get very tired. So tired in fact that we left right before The Weeknd's set...where Kanye showed up and sang his favourite song of mine ever. ULTIMATE FOMO ACHIEVED. I'm still working on getting over that...
