The New Classic

Everyone loves a good throwback, but don't confuse them with the classics. I'm all about revisiting the nostalgia of my childhood in the 90s, and my style is not exception. I kid you not when I say, I had a similar if not identical baseball cap in 1998. It was a cool statement piece then, and it's an even better one now. From my tone on tone hot pink tank and capri pant ensemble in my 6s and 7s, to SJP in her fedora and pinned fuchsia cardigan dancing to Lenny Kravitz's "Lady", GAP has had an influence on how I wear clothes from the get-go. I have distinct memories of both big life events, and little moments wearing the brand, which gives me warm fuzzies everytime I slip into their denim and garments today. It almost feels like I have a personal relationship with the brand in a way I don't with so many others that I once revered and have since come and gone.

The GAP has been with me since the beginning. The early years, through the tumultuous tween/teenhood, my dip into young adulthood, and is still present with me today. I mean I have family members that skipped some of the more annoying phases, so thats saying a lot. All kidding aside, there are very little, if any other brands that have stuck with me, and not only stayed new and relevant through all the fads and trends, but continued to have that positive connotation and happy feeling attached to their name. GAP, is a constant. I mean, what other brand makes a Canadian tuxedo look just as good in 1994 as it does in 2017....That my friends is why you don't mess with the classics.
