True Colours

New York, New York

You know when you start writing something without really knowing what you're writing about?...Well that's me right now. We've literally been working everyday from 5AM-8PM since we returned from our lovely weekend getaway in New York, and safe to say I'm pretty brain dead. This may not the piece that wins me the Pulitzer, but at least the outfit's kinda cute.

I fell in love with it when I saw my best friend, Millie Bobby Brown wearing it in the most recent Calvin Klein campaign. I think the fact thats she's just warming up to puberty probably helped her fit in those cardboard stretchless pants better than I did, but what can I say, I'm never one to step away from a challenge. Besides, this gave me the chance to do that "Tight Pants" Jimmy Fallon dance all day which Peter thoroughly enjoyed. Look at that...I've managed to ramble on about nothing, just as predicted.

I guess if there's one moral to today's story it's the forever recurring  theme of "you do you" girl. You wear what you want to wear, even if that means recreating a look work by someone born in 2004 (that's right folks, two thousand and fucking four), and it not being particularly flattering. Who cares! I got to look like a candy cane cowboy all day, walking around New York city, and I think that's pretty badass. People are always telling me "I wish I could pull off some of the stuff you wear", or "I love it but I could never wear that..." and the truth is that's baloney!...the proof is in the photos that follow. Never let the prospect of judgement, the "rules"of fashion, or the fear of stepping away from the clothes allocated for your body type, detract from your potential artistic expression. I mean look at me, I dress like a clown practically everyday and have somehow convinced people it's working for me. So don't let any of of those little mean voices in your head, scare you away from putting on something that may make you feel magical...Cue in True Colours by Cyndi Lauper...
