New York Fashion Week/Oscar Recap
Happy Monday. Hope you had a lovely Oscar night-in as I did yesterday, and that all your favourite stars took home prizes...if you care about that sort of thing. Or, as in my case, you enjoyed the red carpet portion and were pleased with the stylists' choice at the climax of this award season. It was ok, meh, but I say that every time. I don't know about you, but If I were to attend the oscars, i would you know, try to look like a movie star, i don't know why every year so many actual screen sirens don''t get the memo. I tune in every year knowing i'm setting myself up for disappointment expecting the met ball, but then there are always the lights that shine amidst this darkness. This year for me it was Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace (seriously what is in her water), Jennifer Garner in Oscar De La Renta (FRINGE!), and surprisingly enough Jessica Biel in Chanel Couture, (mostly because if you are going to wear anything at the Oscars, it should be Chanel Couture) though I preferred the fit of the dress on the runway. The only reason Ms Charlize Theron didn't make my top three is well...because she's Charlize Theron and looking that good IN ANYTHING and everything has no merit (same rule applies to Angelina Jolie), besides I like last year's Dior better. There were other great moments from Margot Robbie, Portia De Rossi, and little Miss Lupita Nyong'o in Prada...At first I didn't understand it, "why didn't you save the Ralph Lauren cape for this!" is all I could angrily muster, as well as, "The fuck is up with the head band and the prom dress!"...and then I got it. Cinderella, a pretty good modernized interpretation might I add, and of course, how could I not adore it after that. Besides, mama loves herself some baby blue -- speaking of- check out this last look from our final night in New York for Fashion Week!
